I just met Huston
He was looking for your door
He said he'd like to buy a horse
I saw he had a map of the county in his hand
and your house was circled red
took the keys too damn far to go back by
no, Huston needs a ride

You just missed Huston
He was looking so confused
I guess he really needed you
He was overtired and looking for the truth
i guess old Huston's got the blues
took the keys too damn far to go back by
i promised huston i'd try

you aint given up on looking for your theme
even if you probably should
i'm sorry huston, i aint got what you need
but i promise you, i'd help you if i could

took the keys too damn far to go back by
