You don't know what I'm goin' through
Nothin' is the way I want it to
A search for something more meaningful
Could turn up nothing but ridicule

I'll make a change in my life
When I decide that I'm free
Don't think a moment in time
Could ever shift what I see

Real life is such a Monday (Monday)
My world is crumbling away (away)
Take time to crush the flowers (flowers)
Turn every day so sour (day so sour)

Every day I think I'll change my mind
Course of action that will unwind
Started as a simple rivalry
And ended with the world despising me

I'll make a change in my life
When I decide that I'm free
Don't think a moment in time
Could ever shift what I see

Real life is such a Monday (Monday)
My world is crumbling away (away)
Take time to crush the flowers (flowers)
Turn every day so sour (day so sour)

How come blue skies
Cause one to cry
What is it that earns devotion
What's a daydream
With what I'm thinkin'
