The snowfall was ubiquitous
just like life-long friends this time last year.
But a call home for Christmas made for certain
that I was crossed off the list.
This year things will be better.
That's all that we want.
To spend our time with friends and family on Christmas.
I know it's been a while my heart is on my sleeve.
Pick up this once just, please.
Because I've waited a year to say... Have a very Merry Christmas Day.
Can we accord that this is the best time of year
to be the person you've always wanted to be?
The best time to apologize; to change;
to make up for anything that you think you should,
and to spend it with the people you love.
The time of year when you're reminded that
it's better to give than to receive
and to warm someone else's heart and just give in to make believe.
I wish I hadn't waited until this Christmas.
With an established connection to a familiar voice I used to know
saying they were in the wrong too.
Yeah, you never knew how much you meant. I never told you.
