Don't Close Your Eyes

I give it all that I've got
It's the best I can do
And though it may not be much
I want to share it with you

I feel for the man on the street
The child that doesn't eat
The woman with scars and bruises
All the lonely people

Why must the world be so unkind?
To sleep in hell would make
The Angels cry

Don't close your eyes then act surprise
Don't close your eyes it won't disappear
Don't close your eyes the fool is blind
Don't close your eyes

The system is a big machine
And we have seen the glory
But the rain still falls
On the lost dream
While some pretend to worry

Why must the world be so unkind?
To sleep in hell would make
The Angels cry

Don't close your eyes then act surprise
Don't close your eyes it won't disappear
Don't close your eyes the fool is blind
Don't close your eyes
