(Charles Rogers - Jim Ed Brown)

She was more than any woman I had dreamed of
And I found it more than easy, giving in
So I fell in love not knowing
That her lips would soon grow cold
I was only helpin' her get over him.

She was always more than willing with her loving
And I never realized that even then
When she would wake me up at dawnin'
With her needin' and her wantin'
I was only helpin' her get over him.

Yes, I'm only helpin' her get over him
Till she finds the strenght to stand along again
Wish that I could keep believing
And I hate my eyes for seeing
That I'm only helpin' her get over him.

Yes, I'm only helpin' her get over him...
