I've worked out on the road
Hammered nails all in a row
I've worked on cars, and I've sold things too
All I need is this pickup truck
A little bit of love
And a whole lot of luck
Come Friday night I know just what to do

CHORUS:
I hear a big ole crowd
Screaming loud, bartender says last call
Come on back tomorrow night
I'm sure we'll have a ball
I'm just an ordinary guy all week long
Till I step inside this bar
I'm a genuine, certified, honky tonk till I die
Weekend superstar

When the weekend's done and Monday comes
It's back to the same ole grind
I work hard all week for a little bitty check
The government says ain't mine
When the whistle blows
I'll be on my toes, headed back to the bar
I'm a genuine, certified, honky tonk till I die
Weekend superstar

CHORUS
