When the lightnin' strikes and the sky turns red
Better bolt your door, put your child to bed
Better pour a drink, better drink it fast
Smoke a cigarette, 'till the storm has passed
Better make no sound, babe don't be around
When the lightin' strikes

In the drivin' rain, when the darknesse falls
On the howlin' wind, can you hear the call
Better draw the blinds, better say a prayer
Hear your back door slam, but there's no one there
Better make no sound, babe don't be around
When the lightnin strikes

Don't be around, don't you make no sound
When the lightin'n strikes
Better curl it up, keep it outta sight
Oh Lord, when the lightnin' strikes
Baby don't be around, baby don't make a sound
On the darkest night, when the lightnin' strikes
In the drivin' rain, you can hear the call
In the drivin' rain, when the lightnin' strikes
Oh Lord.
