Mammy's little baby loves shortnin', shortnin'
Mammy's little baby loves shortnin' bread
Mammy's little baby loves shortnin', shortnin'
Mammy's little baby loves shortnin' bread

Put on the skillet
Put on the lid
Mamma's going to make some shortnin' bread
That aint all she's going to do
Mamma's going to cook a little coffee too

Mammy's little baby loves shortnin', shortnin'
Mammy's little baby loves shortnin' bread
Mammy's little baby loves shortnin', shortnin'
Mammy's little baby loves shortnin' bread

Caught me with skillet
Cwith the lid
Caught with the gal eatin' shortnin' bread
Six months for the skillet, six months for the lid
And five for stealing that fine bread

By the way who was that Nelson ed?
