Lately I've been driving down the back roads
I'm never sure just what comes next
Somehow it doesn't really matter
Something better always lies ahead

There's no map to give any direction
Every town's a place where I might stay
Every turn is one more invitation
Getting lost is how I find the way

Down back roads to find my way back home
I never really know just where the road will go

Fears are only shadows on a dark road
Now that I know what they are
