Charlie Merriam

I been to Jamaica. I been to the South land.
I've been down the river of no return many times before.

Chorus:
Now, won't you carry me home,
big ship, Glory, carry me home?
Carry me home, big ship, Glory, carry me home.

I been through the sunshine.
I been through the thunder.
I've been through a hurricane bound for trouble in a Florida storm.

(Chorus)

Well, I don't remember when it started.
We were going strong and then we parted
Singing every song I ever knew since I was ten.
Yes, I rode a main sail for your honor. Even went to jail in Tijuana
If I had to live my life all over, I'd do it all again.

'Cause I've been through some good times. I've been through some troubles.
I've been through some hard times that had me wishin'
I had never been born.

(Chorus twice and fade)
