(David Wolfert - Sue Sheridan)

(Runnin' in the night lookin' for a lover
Keepin' outta sight keepin' undercover.)

You come to me from someone else well darlin' that's alright
I've watched you from a distance for some time
But you keep lookin' over your shoulder like a bandit in the night
You say you feel like an outlaw well that's just a state of mind.

It's just a state of mind we're all on the run sometimes
Lookin' for a hideout nobody can find
When you're in that state between love and hate standin' on the borderline
Remember bein' an outlaw is just a state of mind.

And if you want to steal my love well darlin' that's alright
You know I'd give it to you anyway
And if I try to take your heart and keep it next to mine
Well, maybe I'm standin' on the edge with you but I'm guilty of no crime.

It's just a state of mind we're all on the run sometimes
Lookin' for a hideout nobody can find
When you're in that state between love and hate standin' on the borderline
Remember bein' an outlaw is just a state of mind.

Runnin' in the night lookin' for a lover
Keepin' outta sight stayin' undercover
Runnin' in the night lookin' for a lover
Keepin' outta sight stayin' undercover.

Just a state of mind we're all on the run sometimes
Lookin' for a hideout nobody can find
When you're in that state between love and hate standin' on the borderline
Remember bein' an outlaw is just a state of mind.

It's just a state of mind...
