Below our heavy sky
We're swimming in the rain
No lightning makes us pause
No thunder makes us wait

When I come up from my dive
Please grab onto my legs
Choke on some water and smile at you
And you could do the same

I believe, someday I hope I will believe
That honesty should be everything
Honestly, honesty means everything
I believe, someday I hope I will believe

Later on that night our faces filled with firelight
Our eyes moved along with everything we said
Stars were calling from their haze that follows summer rain
Voices hoarse from everything we tried to say

I believe, someday I hope I will believe
That honesty should be everything
Honestly, honesty means everything
I believe, someday I hope I will believe

Later on that night we sat on towels with tangled hair
Both in bathing suits that hours ago had dried
Speaking quickly so the sparrows couldn't interrupt
Voices broken from the words we had to say

I believe, someday I hope I will believe
That honesty should be everything
Honestly, honesty means everything
I believe, someday I hope I will believe
Someday I hope I will believe
