(Charlie Craig)

We met each other two jilted lovers
Pickin' up the pieces in the dark
One night together won't last forever
It ain't love but it's a start.

Two empty glasses two stories told
Twenty minutes after the honky tonk has closed
Midnight is over it's just me and you
Gettin' over someone a loser and a fool.

--- Instrumental ---

Don't put it down love on the rebound
Lonely people need someone to hold
You can't be her and I can't be him
But it's better than no where else to go.

Two empty glasses two stories told
Twenty minutes after the honky tonk has closed
Midnight is over it's just me and you
Gettin' over someone a loser and a fool.

Two empty glasses two stories told
Twenty minutes after the honky tonk has closed
Midnight is over it's just me and you
Gettin' over someone a loser and a fool...
