I've got a 1947 Studebaker
I swear there's nothing on the road that couldn't take her
This thing I own isn't quite up to par
The rear bumper's ready to fall off the car
I get so mad I'd like to drive it into the tar pits

A valve disconnected and it went right through the piston
She sounds like Tarzan fighting Sonny Liston
She has voices that are strictly her own
Sometimes she whinnies like a strawberry roan
The very next moment she sounds liike a buffalo roaring

When I take her to the lot they think it's funny
I'd like to sell her but I haven't got the money
When I try to give it to them here's what they say
"You'll have to give me 50 bucks to take it away!"
Looks like the 47 Studebaker's here to stay
