On a long hot summer day

I got on my bike and I rode away

I was going to the swimming hole

With a pack of smokes and my fishin' pole

That was the day that i won't forget

I stripped down and put out my cigarette

I took a running jump swan dive

The current pulled me to the other side

Run and jump swan dive

I pulled my hair from my face

Imagined I was in a rapid race

Well I took a breath and rode the fall down

It beat me up and spent me all around

I didn't know God could be found

Under water with me pinned to the ground

Still the water held me down...down

Run and jump swan dive, swan dive

On a long hot summer day

I got on my bike and I rode away

That was the day that I won't forget

I got dressed and lit up a cigarette

I rode home with the speed of light

I jumped the ditch and threw down my bike

I took a running jump swan dive

And it felt so good just to be alive

I didn't know God could be found

Still the water held me down

I didn't know God could be found

Still the water held me down

Till I kicked it in the mouth, mouth, mouth

Run and jump swan dive

I do a run and jump swan dive

And it felt so good just to be alive

I'm alive, I do a run and jump swan dive
